Gold prices steadied Thursday as U.S. trade tariff jitters supported safe-haven demand while key nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran proceeded in Switzerland.
At 08:55 ET (13:55 GMT), Spot gold rose 0.1% to $5,171.27 an ounce, while U.S. Gold Futures slipped 0.8% to $5,186.66/oz.
Oil prices retreat as U.S.-Iran nuclear talks go ahead
Oil prices retreated Thursday, handing back some of the recent gains after a sharp rise in U.S. stockpiles as more U.S.-Iran nuclear talks proceed.
At 07:55 ET (12:55 GMT), Brent Oil Futures expiring in April fell 1.4% to $69.73 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures slipped 1.9% to $64.17 per barrel.
Dollar steadies after upbeat Nvidia results; nuclear talks, tariff woes in focus
The U.S. dollar stabilized Thursday after earlier losses on the back of strong earnings from AI giant Nvidia, with traders awaiting details of the latest U.S. tariffs.
At 03:00 ET (08:00 GMT), the Dollar Index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six other currencies, traded 0.1% higher to 97.650, but was on track for weekly losses of around 0.2%.
